USports Shooting Metrics

USports basketball in Canada (Men’s and Women’s) differentiates metrics into two different categories with a couple of stats spanning both. The two categories are Shooting and Ball Control, in this post we will be covering of what USports classifies as Shooting metrics.

GP (Games Played): The number of games played

GS (Games Started): The number of games started by the player

MIN (Minutes Played): The number of minutes played by a player or team

MIN AVG (Minutes Per Game): The number of minutes played by a player per game

Calculation: MIN / GP

PTS (Points): The number of points scored

PTS AVG (Points Per Game): The number of points scored per game

Calculation: PTS / GP

FG-FGA (Field Goals Made – Field Goals Attempted): The number of field goals made vs. field goals attempted

FG PCT (Field Goal Percentage): The percentage of field goal attempted that a player makes

Calculation: Field Goals Made / Field Goals Attempted

3FG-3FGA (3 Point Made – 3 Point Attempted): The number of 3 pointers made vs. 3 pointers attempted

3P% (3 Point Percentage): The percentage of 3 point field goal attempts that a player makes

Calculation: 3 Pointers Made / 3 Pointers Attempted

FT-FTA (Free Throws Made – Free Throws Attempted): The number of free throws made vs. free throws attempted

FT% (Free Throw Percentage): The number of free throw attempts that a player or team has made

Calculation: Free Throw Made / Free Throw Attempted

FGM (Field Goals Made): The number of field goals that a player or team has made. This includes both 2 pointers and 3 pointers

FGA (Field Goals Attempted): The number of field goals that a player or team has attempted. This includes both 2 pointers and 3 pointers

FG% (Field Goal Percentage): The percentage of field goal attempts that a player makes

Calculation: Field Goals Made / Field Goals Attempted
